Parsi is among the language which has its own significance in Islamic civilization beside Arabic, Turkish and Urdu. I think that I will need it in the future and as a Muslim I feel responsible to learn this language and looking forward for a unified Muslim nation regardless of our sects.
For this time-being I want to focus more on Parsi and Urdu. I have some knowledge in Urdu since my father was a fan of Old Hindi movies. I grow up with it although we lived in Chinese environment.
For me Parsi is a language of civilization. People always look at Greek and Latin as the languages of knowledge but that is in the West. For us here in the East, Persia was not only an empire. It is also a great civilization which is comparable or even more higher than Greek or Roman civilization. It has its influence on ancient kingdoms scattered around South Asia and South East Asia. Also in the Middle East.
Parsi had influenced Urdu which is the official language of Pakistan. Also influenced Turkish and spoken by medieval Chinese Muslims beside Arabic as the language of prayers. - Al-Ghazali.

All of the mentioned scholars are the experts of the Classical Shafei school of Jurisprudence practiced in our region in South East Asia except for al-Ghazali who taught Sufism while he is still an adherent of the Shafei school. The religious policy of our country obliged us to be in accordance with federal religious department for basic religious practices or for public communion so I would try to avoid using religious stuffs from Iran for language study. I am not discriminating Iranian, not looking down on their religious experts or their nationality. I am just being cautious not to cause any disunity and complying with our national media policy.
I would like to dedicate this blog for my Parsi learning project. It will be a medium for me to put notes that I get from links apart of writing them in notes and exercise book since I want to be serious in it. I would like to express gratitude to those who had been generous in providing Parsi language knowledge through their links.
I would like to say sorry if I had not include the link but I want you to know that all of the credits would and should go to you. I am just using your notes or materials to learn Parsi and it is only for myself. It is simply my personal project. It is not for commercial or profit purpose.
Other than that, I do not confine myself to the version of Persian spoken in Iran. I am studying the Tajik version of Persian which is closely resembling the Persian spoken in the ex-Soviet regions in Central Asia. It uses Cyrillic alphabets or Roman ones rather than Perso-Arabic script. The medium is modern Malay as it is our national language but sometimes I would use simple standard English. So, I hope it is also useful for other friends, brothers and sisters regardless of creed, background or ethnicity.
